Obituary

Walter W. Greenawalt, 67, of Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17th at Westmoreland Hospital. Walter was born on May 4th,1959 in Mount Pleasant to the late Walter B. Greenawalt and late Donna (Keslar) Greenawalt. Walter worked many years at Williamhouse in Mount Pleasant and later retired from Standard Envelope in Greensburg. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. He was a very avid sportsman with spending many days fishing and hunting around Cranberry Glade Lake. His love of gardening was a big part of his life. From producing every vegetable, you could imagine growing sunflowers that towered over the outside of the garden. He also enjoyed whittling things out of wood, mainly Indians. He was always sharing these treasures with a smile. During his retirement years, he spent his time online playing games with his friends.

Walter is survived by his children: Diana Ware, Brian Greenawalt (Crystle) and William Greenawalt, grandchildren: Dezirae Ware, Logan Greenawalt, Lilly Greenawalt, and Barrett Greenawalt, sisters Sharon Roskovich (Robert) and Michelle Permuka (Richard) and nieces Kelsey Roskovich and Ashleigh Permuka.

Family and friends are welcome Thursday, July 30, 2026., from 1 until the time of the memorial service at 2pm at SLATER-REGA FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES Inc 30 W. Main Street Mt Pleasant. Burial to follow at Mount Joy Church Of The Brethren Cemetery 494 E Main Steet, Mt Pleasant, Pa 15666.
