Susan Anne (Mersereau) Klentzin was born in 1944 in Queens, NY but lived most of her life on Long Island. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Adelphi Suffolk/Dowling College and a master’s degree from SUNY Stony Brook. She was a beloved middle and elementary school teacher for decades in the South Country Central School District, primarily at the Bellport Middle School where she taught 6th grade social studies.

Susan was a caring and loving person who had great affection for children and animals. While living and raising her family in Wading River, NY, you could find her at the Wading River beach every sunny summer’s day.

Susan moved to the Pittsburgh, PA area in 2015 and spent many years surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Anne (Courtney) Mersereau and her husband Theodore Klentzin. She is survived by her daughters Jacqueline Klentzin and Kara (Klentzin) Marmo, her son-in-law Jonathan Marmo, her granddaughters Madeleine and Emily as well as her sister Dale Rossino and her cousins Jane and Roberta Hoffmann, who were more sisters than cousins. She is also survived by her best friend Kathy Quigley.
