Of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, age 59, known to friends and family as Rob, passed away surrounded by loved ones on July 19, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky due to complications from stage 4 melanoma with leptomeningeal disease (LMD). Born on July 29, 1966, Rob was raised in Crafton Heights, Pennsylvania, the treasured son of the late Robert “Lefty” Behr and Elizabeth (Reisdorf) Behr.

Rob was the cherished husband of Stefanie (Wuenscher) Behr, sharing a loving and devoted marriage of 10 years with their Boston Terrier, Gracie. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and son-in-law. Rob is survived by his sister Colleen (Joe) Mendyk of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. Rob was a devoted uncle to Payton and Joey Mendyk. He was a beloved family member of Rose Marie Mendyk. Rob is also lovingly remembered by his godmother Judy (John) Bridges along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A 1984 graduate from Langley High School, Rob was a proud member of the baseball team. He went on to play baseball at Penn State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance.

Rob embarked on his professional career at KPMG, where he gained foundational experience in the accounting world. His career path led him to becoming a CPA. He worked for the United Steelworkers and then for McClintock and Associates where he became a director. In 2023, he joined Galen College of Nursing as its AVP of Finance in Louisville.

An avid golfer and reality tv fan, Rob found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Rob’s life was characterized by his compassion and kindness. He took great pride in being a Penn State alumnus and was also a passionate fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams.
