Nancy Kress, 91, of Carnegie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26th surrounded by family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Kress, son, James (Kim) Kress, and sister, Jean Howells. She was the adored grandmother of Anthony (Kari) Kress, Ryan (Derek) Schell, and Michael (Catherine) Kress; cherished aunt of Sandy McClellan, Pam (Chris) Harris and great aunt of Alexis (Ricky) Reinoso, Carly (Sage) Osborne, and Drew Harris; also survived by five great-grandchildren, Griffin, Hadley, Charlie, Theo, and Naya and one great-great-niece, Ariana.

A Chartiers Valley teacher for 38 years at Henry Roberts and Nixon Elementary Schools, Nancy will be remembered for her impact on countless students and for remaining a lifelong educator (and homework helper) to all the children in her life. A social butterfly through and through, Nancy was a dedicated, generous friend to many.

Family and friends received at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp. 15220. 412-563-2800.  on Thursday, October 1, 2026., from 2–4PM and 6–8PM. A funeral service will be held at Montour’s Presbyterian Church, 3151 Montour Church Road, Oakdale, on Friday, October 2 at 11AM. Please meet directly at the church. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.
