Linda R. Clark

Linda R. Lounder Clark, 80, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on September 1, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Linda was born on August 13, 1946, at Washington Hospital in Washington, PA, to the late Rose Testa Lounder and Edward F. Lounder, Sr. She was raised in Burgettstown, PA, but lived much of her life in New Cumberland, WV, remaining deeply connected to the community and the people she loved throughout her life.

For 34 years, Linda had the privilege of serving as a librarian at Lynn Murray Memorial Library. From the time of her retirement, she served as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Library until the time of her passing. Her love of reading made the library a natural home for her, but it was the people she encountered there who made those years especially meaningful. Through her decades of service, she came to know generations of families within the community and became a familiar and trusted presence in the lives of many.

Linda was a quiet, private person by nature, but those who knew her best knew just how deeply she cared. She was the person her entire family turned to for advice and encouragement. She was an extraordinary listener who never needed to have the loudest voice to make the greatest difference. Her greatest joy was knowing that the people she loved were happy, supported, and cared for. Her family knew that, no matter what life brought, they would never have to face any hardship alone.

To her grandchildren, Linda was lovingly known as Mimi-a name that represented the warmth and unconditional love she gave so freely. She treasured her grandchildren and took pride in each of them.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Edward F. Lounder, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Jason Pitcock and her daughter, Krista Carson, both of New Cumberland, WV; her grandchildren, Madaisha Pitcock of Nashville, TN, Kiera Carson of Morgantown, WV, and Nathan Carson of New Cumberland, WV; and her sister, Janice Spicher (Bob Salko) of Mount Lebanon, PA.

Her absence leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved her. Yet the love, guidance, and strength she gave so freely will remain with her family for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished as the heart and rock of her family.

In keeping with Linda's love of reading and her many years of service to the community, those wishing to honor her memory may consider making a donation in her name to Lynn Murray Memorial Library, 601 Railroad St, Chester, WV 26034. For those who prefer to make a monetary memorial gift, donations may also be provided to a member of Linda's family, who will ensure that her memory is honored in a meaningful way.

In accordance with Linda's wishes, private funeral services were held on September 4, 2026. She was laid to rest in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown, PA.
