Lila L. Porchiran, 96, of Slovan, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon August 8, 2026 in her daughter's home in Avella.
She was born on March 24, 1930 in Imperial a daughter of the late Christian and Ida Mae Ackman Junker.
A graduate of the West Allegheny High School where she was a majorette, she also attended and completed beauty school in New Brighten. Mrs. Porchiran operated her own beauty salon in her Slovan home for over 35 years. After retiring from hairdressing, she worked with her very good friend Helen Bertolotti at Bert's Hot Dog Shop in Atlasburg for over 20 years. She enjoyed playing BINGO and trying her luck at the slot machines.
She met her husband George A. Porchiran at a Polka Dance after finding out they were born on the exact same day. They were married in 1951 for 38 years until his passing on August 11, 1989.
She is survived by her four children Terry A. Bauduin, wife of the late Earl of Avella, Dale G. Porchiran and wife Carol of Atlasburg, Kenny Porchiran and wife Robin of Slovan and Carol Jean Mills and husband Larry of Reston, VA; grandchildren Kimberlee Nikolai, Jaime (Brian) Todd, Christopher (Beth) Porchiran, Tanya ( Rob) Embleton, Taylor Mills and Pat Nikolai; great grandchildren Cody, Logan, Addison, Aiden, Reese, Conner and Kendall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her six sisters Margaret, Mildred, Ella Mae, Grace, Marie and Esther; and three brothers Christian, Wayne and Bud.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 12, 2026 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where a Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 13, 2026.
She will then be laid to rest with her husband George in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.
