Joseph O. Werwie

Age 92, of Robinson Twp., passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026. Beloved husband of Norine (Hellmann) Werwie. Dear father of Joyce Perry, Janet Allen, Vanessa Lewellyn, and Valerie (Michael) Zimbicki. Loving grandfather of April, Renae, Zachary, Daryl, Alysha, Bradley, Justin, Jeremy, Hraina. Great grandfather of Frankie, Jaxson, Riley, Hadley, Harper, Tatum, Jensen, Deric, Ethan, Carson, Cooper, and Mila. Brother of Bernard Werwie and the late Jacob, Betty, Raymond, William, Norma and Virginia. The name Joseph means “God will add,” and no name could have been more fitting for Joe. He added to our lives in countless ways—quietly, generously, and without ever expecting anything in return. A reserved man with a giving heart, Joe had a way of knowing what his family needed before they ever had to ask. His love was often shown through what he did rather than what he said, and those who knew him always knew they could count on him. An avid baseball player in his younger years, Joe carried his love of the game throughout his life and went on to become a professional roofer/sheet metal worker. He was endlessly curious and could often be found reading about history, sports, national parks, or antique cars. A baseball game, a slice of cherry pie, Sunday dinner surrounded by family, and roughhousing with his grandchildren were among the simplest and greatest joys of his life. At the heart of it all was Reenie, his beloved wife of more than 70 years and the love of his life. Together, they built a life and family that became Joe’s greatest legacy. Joe leaves behind far more than memories. He leaves the many things he added to our lives—love, security, knowledge, laughter, tradition, and the quiet understanding that taking care of the people you love is one of life’s greatest gifts. Joseph lived the meaning of his name, and all of our lives are fuller because he was a part of them.
