Age 95, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Rosemarie (Scardetta) Matlak. Loving father of Matthew (Gypsy) Matlak, Mark (Karen) Matlak, and John (the late Diane Q.) Matlak. Brother of Bernard (Patricia) Matlak. Grandfather of Justin (Kembly)Matlak, Mallory (Dan) Rough, and Zachary Matlak. Great-grandfather of Meadow Rough and Noah Matlak. Beloved son of the late Joseph Matlak and Mary (Novak) Matlak. Cherished Uncle of Mary Jo (Chris) Cassano and Bernard (Georgette) Matlak. Joseph was extremely proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps ( Dec. 1950-Dec. 1953). Served in the Korean War, attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. 1. After the war, he started a successful career in banking, eventually becoming a branch manager at the Brentwood, Clairton, and McKeesport branches of Pittsburgh National Bank (PNC). NO VISITATION. Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral mass on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, St. Michael the Archangel Parish. Burial will be private to the family.
