Jane Mitko

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Jane (Jenny) Mitko, 84, of Burgettstown, passed away on Saturday morning September 5, 2026.

She was born on September 9, 1941 in Osnabruck, Germany a daughter of the late John and Helen Tchaikovsky Jankowski.

A graduate of Schenley High School, she also graduated from the Washington School of Cosmetology and worked as a hair dresser for most of her life.

Jenny was a creative, artistic, and generous lady. She loved to cook, bake and try new recipes from all cultures. Her happy place was in her garden. She was always painting, sewing, or crocheting beautiful things. She was a formidable opponent at Scrabble and loved to listen to music especially polkas. She enjoyed so very much spending time with her grandchildren and always had a funny story to tell them. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Michael Mitko of Paris, PA, Robert Mitko of Atlasburg, Stacey Vigliotti and husband Ralph of Eldersville and Tracey Kampian and husband Jeff of Bulger; grandchildren Melanie, Kristen, Michael, Garrett, Alex, Rachel, Roger, Anthony and Elena; great grandchildren Nolan and Auggie

To honor Jenny's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A service celebrating her life for her immediate family is being planned for a later date.
