James Michael Balach, age 90, of Bethel Park, passed peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband for 66 years to the late Margaret Barbara (Dubich) Balach. Son of the late Matthew and Catherine (Curran) Balach. After his military service, he studied horticulture in college. Through a Navy friend, he met the love of his life, Margie, and together they built a beautiful life in Whitehall, raising five children, followed by six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
A man of many passions, James enjoyed soccer, fishing, playing guitar, and Penn State football. James coached soccer forcollege, high school, and travel levels, and was known for his dedication to the sport and the young athletes he mentored. He also owned a fishing and hunting store and spent countless hours on his boat, doing what he loved most—being out on the water. His greatest joy was his family, whom he loved deeply.
