Helen V. Blackburn, age 100, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away October 31, 2026 at Patriot Village of Somerset. Born April 15, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Peter and Sophia (Tokarczyk) Krol. Helen enjoyed sewing, quilting, shopping at thrift stores, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving children James Blackburn (Ellen) of Acme, John Blackburn (Darlene) of White, Donna Blackburn, of Mt. Pleasant, Dianne WIld of Garfield Heights, OH; beloved grandmother of eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother William Krol, of Kent, OH.and her fur baby Snarfy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son David Blackburn, brothers Joseph, John, Walter, George, Frank, Stanley Krol, and sisters Genevieve Banasik and Mary Grzywinski.


Friends and family will be received Tuesday from 3-8pm at Slater-REGA Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 9:30am in St.Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be at Transfiguration Cemetery. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15am on Wednesday morning.
