FRANCIS L. DADY JR.

Age 79, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia Dady (Kennedy); loving father of James Dady and Justin Dady; father-in-law of Emma Dady; and brother of Terry Michel, Sherry Baumann, and David Dady. Francis was also predeceased by 4 other siblings. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and family members on Patricia’s side.

Francis was a proud United States Army Veteran. He served in the 173rd Airborne Brigade or the “3rd Herd”. Francis served 3 tours in Vietnam with his fellow “Sky Soldiers”. He was a tunnel rat while he was over there. Francis was highly decorated and received honors including two Bronze Service Stars, a Bronze Star medal, Vietnam Service medal, National Defense medal, and a Purple Heart. Following his service, he was a service officer and longtime member of the American Legion Baldwin Post 935.

All are welcome Thursday, July 23, 2026, 4-8 PM, WM. SLATER AND SONS, INC., 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington, 412-381-3345, where his Funeral Service will take place, Friday, July 24, 2026, 11:15 AM. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
