Dr. Margaret Sharrer Wickerham, of Scott Township, formerly of Wilkinsburg, died Tuesday November 3, 2026.

Born on June 24, 1930, she was the daughter of Harry S. and Catherine Grundman Sharrer.

She was a 1948 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her medical degree from the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Dr. Sharrer was an ophthalmologist at Eye and Ear Hospital, and served as the President of the Medical Staff. She also maintained a private practice with her husband in Pittsburgh.

Margy loved animals, enjoyed playing tennis and gardening, and was active in the Woman’s Club of Wilkinsburg. She loved to laugh and was known as a prankster. A very charitable woman, she believed in giving back to her community.

Surviving are her daughter, Dr. Catherine S. Wickerham (Mike Heinrich), of McMurray, and her beloved granddaughter, Calla Heinrich.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E.P. Wickerham, Jr., and her son, Earl “Harry” Wickerham III.

Friends will be received on Saturday, November 7, 2026 from 2-3pm where a funeral service will take place at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220. (412) 563-2800. Burial will be private.
