Cedric M. Kurtz
March 17, 1951 - October 22, 2026

On Thursday Oct 22, 2026 at age 75 after a long illness, Cedric peacefully passed away. He will be missed by his wife Jane (Allers), his sons Matthew and Justin, and grandson Bennett.

A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, he began his career in journalism with the Lebanon Daily News in his hometown of Lebanon, PA. He and his family moved to Mt. Lebanon, PA when he began working at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. An assistant managing editor at the time of his retirement, he filled a number of roles in the PG newsroom and especially enjoyed working on his “Tech Man” column and "Tech Talk” program.

A gregarious person who had many interests, his favorite vacation retreat was his family cottage in Mt Gretna, PA.
Well known for his extravagant holiday spreads and passion for outdoor grilling, even in extreme weather, he truly enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to psp.org.
