Obituary

Bernadette M. Sentner, age 94, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and independent will. Born and raised on Ringgold Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bernie was an avid Steeler fan, and a proud, lifelong resident of Pittsburgh until her mid-80s, when she moved to New Hampshire to be closer to her beloved son, Richard.

Bernie's greatest joy and proudest achievement was her role as a single mother to her only child, Richard. Her unwavering dedication to him defined her life. Richard was her primary caregiver up until his untimely death on August 15, 2025. Professionally, she brought her outgoing personality to her work as an event hostess at the Hyatt in Pittsburgh, where she helped create memorable experiences for countless guests over many years.

She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Richard V. Sentner; her parents, Andrew G. and Rose C. Seibel; and her siblings, Charles Seibel, Kathleen Hess, Dorothy Bauer, Ralph Seibel, Mary Lou Wirth, and Leo Seibel.

Bernie is survived by her loving sister, LaVerne R. Wuenstel, sister-in-law Linda Seibel (wife of the late Leo Seibel), along with a large, extended family of many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on September 30, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Philip Parish, St. Philip Church, 50 West Crafton Ave. PGH 15205. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society. (Please do not send flowers, the church will not accept them)
