Barbara Rudnik Obituary

Barbara Fiedor Rudnik, age 92 passed away on October 7,2026 at Aurora Nursing and Rehab Center in Scottdale, PA. She was born March 3, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, PA., daughter of the late Blanche (Malek) and Joseph Fiedor. Barbara was a graduate of Ramsey High School, class of 1952. She also attended Seton Hill College, St, Vincent College and Westmoreland County Community where she took classes in elementary education and computer science. She was a substitute teacher at the former Transfiguration School and St. Joseph School in Everson. Barbara also taught religious education to 7th and 8th grade students at Transfiguration and C.C.D. to both kindergarten and 7th and 8th grade confirmation classes at St. John the Baptist in Scottdale. She was a member of the following organizations: Catholic Daughters of America, Court Mothers of Perpetual Help #1347, Koscuizko Ladies Auxiliary, Standard Shaft ladies Auxiliary, and was past president of the American Legion Unit 446, secretary of Transfiguration Rosary Society, member of Transfiguration R. C. Church and also a former employee of Kraisinger’s Market.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, who died on April 30, 2026, her parents, Blanche & Joseph Fiedor, her brothers, Joseph, Eugene and Chet Fiedor, her sisters, BlancheKubicko, Mercedes Patterson and Stella Webster. Barbara is survived by her son, Leo Jr. of Connellsville, daughters, Cindy Smith of Scottdale, Lynn Ann DeMann (Michael) of Powhatan Va., her grandchildren, Michelle Dietz (Matt) of Morgantown W Va, Bob Rudnik of Mt. Pleasant and Eric and Alayna DeMann, great grandchildren Connor, Evan and Ryan Dietz and her sister Bernadette Brownfield of Latrobe.

Family and friends will be received at the Slater REGA Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Friday

from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at which time Prayers of Transfer will be held.

A mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at St. Pius Church, Mt. Pleasant. Committal services and interment will follow at the Transfiguration Cemetery.
