Obituary

Arlene M. Amiano, 87, of O’Hara Township, passed away peacefully in her home on August 3, 2026, after a short illness. She was born July 7, 1939, in Sharpsburg, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred Weber.

She married Robert J. Amiano on July 30, 1960, who preceded her in death on March 10, 2026. Arlene worked for Bell Telephone before marrying Bob and starting her family. While raising her children, she worked as a housekeeping professional for many years. She was a dedicated and loyal wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished the time she spent with family. She was strong-willed and didn’t tolerate her husband’s excessive banter.

Arlene enjoyed cooking, baking, solving crossword puzzles, camping and especially vacationing in the Outer Banks. She was a devout Catholic and a lifetime member of Christ the King Parish. Her idea of social media was making daily phone calls to family and friends. She really enjoyed watching and cheering for the Steelers.

She is survived by her sons, Bob Amiano and his wife Lisa of Lewes, DE, David Amiano and his wife Paula of Bristol, WV, and daughter Michelle Alberts and her husband Rick of Dravosburg, Pa, granddaughters, Rachel Bates (Taylor), Lauren Kilduff (John), Natalie Simmons (Walker) and Marissa Alberts, three great-grandsons, Caden Bates, Elliot Kilduff and Jesse Bates. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers Arthur and Robert, and her sister Rosemary.

Friends and family may call from 4-8 pm this Friday at Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. Sharpsburg, 820 Main Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15215. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday at Christ The King Parish in Madonna of Jerusalem Church, 220 9th Street, Sharpsburg, PA 15215 with a Celebration of Life immediately following at Parkview Social Hall, Parkview.
